The broad and balanced curriculum at Tawhid aims to provide moral and academic excellence for all its pupils. The continuation and success of this depends on the contribution of staff, pupils and, parents. As parents and carers, we need to be actively involved in the moral upbringing and academic achievements of our children. Pupils follow the National Curriculum subjects as well as Arabic language and Islamic Studies. Students are taught in mixed ability groups and with work being differentiated to cater for all abilities.
Additional subjects may also be offered on a one year course. Class sizes are smaller than state schools allowing more time for one to one teaching. After school and Saturday booster classes are time-tabled throughout the year for all classes taking external examinations in various subjects. An intensive programme of Boosters will run for Year 11 pupils from September till May.
As well as traditional subjects, the school offers a range of skills based programmes to allow pupils to develop real-life functionality. At KS3 emphasis is on pupils to develop core functional Skills in English, Mathematics and ICT. At KS4, pupils complete a range of WorkSkills and Career development programmes, Work Experience and the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze and Silver Award.

Students experiencing learning difficulties are catered for by Special Education Needs (SEN) provision. An Individual Education Plan is formulated for the pupil in question. Targets are set, and to be met by the SEN coordinator and parents working together. A review of the IEP will take place at the end of each school term.
As part of ongoing development of pupils Literacy skills, their is a strong emphasis on developing literacy across the Curriculum. Tracking of pupils literacy skills is therefore carried out throughout KS3 using Nationally recognized test.
On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, there are class lead assemblies as well as upper and lower whole school assemblies on alternate weeks, which are based on various moral topics usually themed with the Islamic calendar. Tutor groups are also responsible for delivering class assemblies on a rota system which take place on Tuesday mornings. At Tawhid Boys School we provide the opportunity for all our students to perform Zuhar Salaah in a congregation. On Friday, school ends at 12.40 pm, allowing students to attend the Friday congregational prayer, Salaat-ul-Jumm’a. The ‘Seerah’ of the Prophet (S.A.W) and biographies of the Sahabas, the noble companions, are presented to pupils daily during prayer times.
All pupils undertake Physical Education (P.E) throughout their school life. We provide an extensive indoor and outdoor PE programme which includes: football, athletics, rugby, cricket, tennis, swimming, badminton, Canoeing, biking, handball, basketball, softball etc.
The students of Key Stage 3 have Art and Design lessons once a week. Islamic art and architecture traditionally place the highest importance on the achievement of beauty, a natural outgrowth of the Quranic teachings and guidance which emphasise goodness, truth and knowledge.
Taking Islamic ethics and moral guidelines into account, whilst also fulfilling OFSTED recommendations for the methods taught and achievements expected from the Key Stage 3 Art and Design curriculum, we at Tawhid Boys School have tailored the lessons so the students, through exploring different disciplines of art, gain skills in creativity, focus, problem solving, confidence, perseverance, receiving and giving constructive feedback, non-verbal communication, collaboration, dedication and accountability.
The classes include instruction in Islamic Calligraphy and Geometry, Drawing (still life), Painting and the use of colours, Design and the use of computers for this purpose. We at Tawhid Boys School have also arranged school outings and workshops at the Tate Galleries in London, to deepen the learnings and inspire the students.
