This year’s literacy competition challenged students to write a short story that must involve three things: Lionel Messi, a beach and a key. There was a healthy level of participation in the competition and all entries received points for their respective teams. Some entries were outstanding however picking winners was an almost impossible task. After careful consideration including reading and re-reading, it was decided that this year’s winning entry should be awarded to Adnan Abdullahi in year 9, so congratulations to him. He was gifted £20 and will have his name engraved on the coveted literacy trophy! All winning entries (and prices) are listed below. Their work will be displayed in the main foyer of the school inshallah.
