> Update: April 2007

Good Morning all,

STA Bikes, one of Hackney’s cycle training providers, has obtained ringside, VIP tickets to the Prologue of the Tour de France in London on July 7. This will be a fun day out for the whole family – as well as the Prologue there will be a carnival-style parade and lots of activities happening in Hyde Park. STA Bikes is offering their VIP tickets to Hackney families who wish to cycle down to the event.

Don’t worry – all families will receive free, full cycle training. STA Bikes is offering Family Cycle Training Sessions every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm, starting on April 21. There will be 11 sessions to ensure every family has the skills needed to cycle to the Prologue venue safely. All tuition will be given by experienced cycle trainers, currently training other Hackney children and adults.

These training sessions would be a great way for your school’s families to do something fun together. People of all ages will be encouraged to take up a new sport, get fit and help the environment all at the same time.

Cyclists of all levels are welcome, especially complete beginners.

At the cycle training sessions, families and other groups will gain confidence on their cycles and get some on-road experience. Professionals will be on hand to give cycling advice and information. Dr Bike will be there to ensure all cycles are road-worthy.
