Pupils from Year 8 took part in a fun and interactive workshop session relating to recycling, which was delivered by Eco – Active, based in Hackney, a local charity who works closely with organizations and Schools in Hackney to deliver practical, innovative and hands-on projects relating to sustainability within the environment. This workshop enabled pupils to develop a closer understanding of how recycling works and it’s importance for the environment and community. The workshop also highlighted the roles of individuals, businesses, councils and government in waste disposal. Pupils engaged in fun practical activities, which helped them to understand the recycling process through paper making and other interactive activities. Pupils finished off the workshop by conducting a waste audit of our School and are working on an action plan to help improve our School’s waste products.
