Our School arranged a special trip for the Year 7 class to visit the prestigious newly built Tate Modern Art Gallery in Bankside, London. Tate Modern is the most-visited modern art gallery in the world, with around 4.7 million visitors per year. This trip linked in with our School’s Art curriculum and gave students an opportunity to enhance their Art skills by exploring a range of Art displays.

Pupils engaged in various tasks and had opportunities to test out their thinking in relation to the artworks and practices on display. Displays ranged from the 1950’s up until the 20th century. There were some really interesting displays relating to the evolvement of telephones and communication technology over the past 100 years. Displays featured works from Artists originating from all over the world. Pupils were given worksheets and focused the displays upon the current world and how it is relevant to our modern day and age
