Year 9 pupils had a tour around the Palace of Westminster, learning about the history of Parliament. Pupils also learnt and explored the art and architecture of the buildings which have come to be so recognised. This experience was great for our pupils as it gave them a  first-hand unique experience of the Palace of Westminster through a focused, educational  tour. During the visit, pupils visited the House of Commons and the House of Lords, Westminster Hall and the Central lobby. As the General Elections are coming up, the timing of this trip was very relevant, as it gave pupils an insight into how politicians go about their day-to-day duties and how the government runs our country. It was also an opportunity for pupils to learn about how we can participate in our democratic process and learn about the significance and importance of voting in the UK.
