Future at Tawhid

School Expansion Programme Update
> Update: September 2010

Extensive consultation with the Planning Department at Hackney Council and with the local residents had taken place throughout the summer of 2009 to ensure the Scheme presented for the expansion of the school at the Belfast Road Site was successful. The process has been very slow and painstaking draining school resources. The application stands with the Council and is still awaiting representation at the Planning Committee after two years! We would like to thank Br Umair Waheed (Atelier | UWA Architects) and his team for their continuous efforts and pray Allah reward them in both worlds, Ameen.

Proposal for Expansion at Belfast Road

The following proposal have been put forward for planning consent. Inshallah once that has been achieved, the Council will be in the position to have a valuation of the property and enter sales negotiation with Tawhid. We request all for their duas that this process is short and the decisions benefits the community. We will Inshallah keep developments posted on the website.

A suitable premises has been identified which will cater for a purpose built school where our students will continue to progress within an Islamic environment.
