Tawhid Green Champions

Year 6, 7 & 8 were short listed for Green Champions Scheme to promote the recycling initiative. After being briefed in an assembly by the Hackney Eco-Active Team, Year 8 were selected to undertake the challenge of becoming ‘Green Champions’.

The Programme was planned over two days and consists of 3 members of the Eco-Active team providing a whole range of events and activities in which pupils shared ideas and concerns presenting their opinions and making inform decision based on facts and figures. Presentations were given and project work completed in groups. The pupils become more conscious of recycling and awareness to conserve energy grew. All pupils successfully completed the programme and will be awarded Green Champions status very soon. Well done to Year 8 and Mr Ashraf Khan who initiated this project from start to finish.

Allhamdoulilah, Islam has always promoted scarce use of resources, i.e. without waste and ISRAAF is against Islamic practice. The prophet (SAW) was a perfect example and guidance to the whole of mankind.
