Al Isharah; who are the UK’s leading charity that caters for deaf Muslims in the UK had held assembly at our school. They work with the Deaf community on a daily basis to make services and resources accessible for them, to cultivate independent thinking, to create exciting and rewarding opportunities for them to share experiences with other young Deaf people and gain access to positive role models. Al Isharah also works in partnership with Youth Clubs, Youth Groups, Schools, faith based Institutions and the local councils. Pupils Donations Well Received

Alhamdulillah, our pupils had the opportunity to personally deliver the donations that they collected throughout the past few weeks. We managed to collect 300 kilos worth of food items, which consisted of over 1,000 individual items. Pupils also raised a total of £100 for Crisis UK. Year 7 Visit National History Museum

Year 7 visited the National History Museum. They had a tour of the newly built Earthquakes & Volcanoes gallery and participate in the Earth Show: ‘The Variety Show’.   The show had excited pupils about the diversity, complexity and beauty of life on Earth. They observed demonstrations involving animal specimens, large props, volunteers and lots of audience participation. Pupils had learned about species adaptations and how and why scientists classify all living organisms. They also discovered how humans fit into this classification system and they got the chance to do the job of our enquiries service scientists, emphasising the importance of features in the classification and identification of species. Crisis UK Pupils visit to Donations HQ...

  Alhamdulillah, our pupils had the opportunity today to personally deliver the donations that they collected throughout the past few weeks. We managed to collect 300 kilos worth of food items, which consisted of over 1,000 individual items. Pupils also raised a total of £100 for Crisis UK.   Pupils personally visited Crisis UK donations Warehouse in Bermondsey,  South London. Cumbria Floods Appeal

As you are all aware, there has been severe flooding throughout certain parts of the UK, especially within these past 3-4 days. Thousands of people have been flooded out of their homes or left without power after Storm Desmond wreaked havoc in parts of the UK. In Cumbria and Lancashire more than 43,000 homes are suffering from power cuts, while an estimated 5,200 homes have been affected by flooding. The weather has claimed two lives – in Cumbria and the Republic of Ireland. David Cameron said the flood defences in Cumbria “were not enough” and some people might not be home for Christmas. Storm Desmond lashed parts of Northern Ireland, north Wales, southern Scotland and especially north-west England...
